Gabi and Ventsi - Wedding in Varna

Gabi and Venci's wedding took place in Varna with an outdoor ceremony on the terrace of the „Byalata Kashta“ restaurant in the Chaika district – a calm atmosphere with a sea feel and closeness to the guests.

On the wedding day, we did a short photoshoot, and the post-wedding photoshoot was on a separate day around Tyulenovo and Shabla, amidst rocks, sea, and natural light.

For us, every wedding is first and foremost a story – a series of small, authentic moments that are easily missed if not sought out carefully. When filming Gabi and Ventsi's wedding, we strived for exactly that: to remain in the shadows and capture natural reactions, hugs, and glances, rather than directing the shots. A documentary approach means patience – waiting for the right moment instead of recreating it.

The terrace of the „White House“ restaurant in the Chaika district offered a calm and intimate setting for the formal part of the day, with a sea breeze and soft afternoon light that reflected well in every shot. The proximity to the guests also allowed for more candid shots such as family conversations and toasts, which are usually unnoticed by the official photographer, but carry a strong emotional charge over the years.

The post-wedding photoshoot took place separately in the area of Tyulenovo and Shabla – some of the most impressive coastal locations in Northern Bulgaria, known for their high cliffs, clear horizon, and sense of space. This combination of cliffs, sea, and natural light allowed for a more relaxed, intimate set of shots, away from the hustle and bustle of the wedding day itself, during which the newlyweds had the opportunity to simply be together in front of the lens.

In addition to the official ceremony and reception, we also focus on the preparations before the wedding – the moment when the excitement is perhaps most palpable. The details of the day – the dress, the shoes, the rings, the small personal touches – also matter in the wedding narrative, which is why we take time to carefully photograph them before the actual celebration begins.
